Round Two Results
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico (SMU) - Senior Harry Higgs carded a two-under 70 to remain in the top 20 overall, but a tough finish placed SMU in 12th after round two at the Puerto Rico Classic on Monday morning.
Higgs started the day four-under through eight holes, but two double-bogeys over the rest of the round dropped him to two-under. In all, he carded seven birdies including five across holes 11 through 18.
SMU spent most of the day in the middle of the pack, but a tough finish to the round dropped the Mustangs to 12th overall.
"Today was a tough day," SMU head coach Josh Gregory said. "Fortunately we have a day to get better tomorrow. These guys will respond well tomorrow and play better."
No. 1 Alabama continues to lead the tournament, holding a 10-stroke edge over No. 2 Georgia Tech. No. 5 Georgia is fifth, while Clemson and Purdue round out the top five.
