NASHVILLE, Tenn. (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs posted strong results across multiple events during the first day of the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday.
SMU took a runner-up finish in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay, posting a time of 11:41.89, finishing second to Vanderbilt. The Mustangs also picked up two top-five results in the 5,000 meter run, with senior Caitlin Keen posting a personal-best time, placing second (16:56.81) and junior Melanie Stemper finishing fifth (17:00.30). "The bear is waking up," Wollman said. "Day one was a big step up from week one. Can't wait for day two."
