DALLAS (SMU) - Senior Idi Camara scored a pair of goals to lead the No. 12 SMU men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Tulsa Wednesday night at Westcott Field. With the win, the Mustangs improved to 11-2-2, 6-0 in American play, while Tulsa fell to 6-6-2 overall, 2-3-1 in American play.

Junior Stanton Garcia opened up scoring 23 seconds into the match after he received a cross from Christian Boorom and punched it in from six yards out. The goal was Garcia's fourth of the season and the assist was Boorom's first of the season. Mauro Cichero was also credited with an assist on the play, his fifth of the season.

In the 35th minute, Camara scored his second goal of the season after he received a pass from Cichero and shot it in the bottom left corner of the goal.

Camara scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 47th minute after teammate Brenden Lee blocked a pass from the Tulsa goalkeeper and found a wide open Camara waiting in the box.

After trailing 3-0, the Golden Hurricane's first goal came in the 67th minute and later scored their second goal in the 89th minute off a penalty kick.

"We knew going into the second half up 2-0 that Tulsa was going to go for it," Hudson said. "They're a team where they go for it every time and they don't hold back. It takes a mature team to see out a game and to keep pressing and playing the way we want to play. It's human nature to take your foot off the gas but I think we were under it for a good portion of the game."

Goalkeeper Michael Nelson recorded nine saves in the net for the Mustangs while Tulsa goalkeeper Jake McGuire tallied two saves for the Golden Hurricane.

Up next, the Mustangs take on No. 13 USF on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. CT at Corbett Stadium.

"USF is a good team that is highly ranked with explosive options all over the field," Hudson said. "It's two teams that are top of the table going at it for the second to last game of the year and I couldn't draw it up any better."
