RESULTS: SWIMMING | DIVING
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) -- Bartosz Krzyzaniak wrapped up a successful outing at the Art Adamson Invitational with an NCAA B cut in the 200-yard backstroke to lead the SMU Men's swimming and diving team on Saturday night. The sophomore won the Bonus final with a 1:46.13, which was good for the seventh fastest time in finals. The Mustangs finished with a team score of 308 placing them sixth overall.
Krzyzaniak was one of three swimmers representing SMU in the event, as Brandon Norman finished fifth and Kianu Kitching placed eighth.
SMU continued its success in relays, finishing the event with a fifth-place and season-best time of 3:01.37 in the 400-yard freestyle from Krzyzaniak, Ziga Cerkovnik, Sam Straughan and Christian Scherubl.
In distance action, Scherubl, Lucas Schenke and Matthew Colket scored for the Mustangs finishing sixth, 14th and 16th, respectively, in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
Scherubl also earned runner-up honors in the Consolation Final of the 100-yard freestyle, touching in 44.91, while Schenke was eighth in the Bonus Final at 46.54.
Consolation performances were also turned in by Stefan Popov in the 200-yard breaststroke and Garrett Carson in the 200-yard butterfly. Popov clocked a 2:02.41 for fifth place, and Carson was sixth with a time of 1:51.77.
Parker Meinecke, Daniel Pitts and Parker Holloway competed in platform diving finals finishing eighth, 11th and 14th, respectively.
