ATLANTA (SMU) – SMU Men's Swimming and Diving concluded the fourth day of competition at the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday at the McAuley Aquatic Center, posting a new school record from captain Sage Sungail and a top-10 finish from freshman Francis Brennan.
Through the fourth day of competition, the Mustangs currently rank eighth with a team score of 242.

Notable Results
200 Free Relay
The squad of Sage Sungail, Harold Lockhart, Eli Likins and Benjamin Chateigner recorded a time of 1:17.13 in the 200 free relay.
Sungail posted a lead-off time of 19.29, marking a new school record in the 50 free. The record-breaking time also earns the senior an NCAA Standard.
500 Free
In the preliminary heats, three Mustangs qualified for 500 free finals. Freshman Francis Brennan earned a spot in the B finals after touching the wall in 4:17.52.
In the finals, Brennan improved his previous time to 4:17.28, finishing 10th overall in his first conference championship appearance and earning the Mustangs 17 points. The performance secured Brennan an NCAA Standard in the event and moved him to third on SMU's All-Time Top-10 Performers List.
Captain Jack Forrest and Leo Pelaez both swam their way into the C finals, recording times of 4:19.09 and 4:19.65, respectively. Pelaez's time puts him ninth on SMU's All-Time Top Performers List for the 500 free.
In his appearance in the C finals, Forrest recorded an even quicker time of 4:18.43 to place 20th overall. Pelaez finished in 4:21.52, ranking 23rd overall.
In a preliminary heat, freshman Aubrey Jaya threw down a time of 4:21.94 to place 34th.
200 IM
In the preliminary heats, five Mustangs competed in the 200 IM. Kristaps Mikelsons led the group, finishing 25th with a time of 1:45.16. Jack Moore followed, throwing down a time of 1:45.27 to place 27th.
Andy Baklanov recorded a time of 1:45.49, earning himself 28th place and a spot on the SMU Top-10 Performers List (10th). Freshman Trey Clervi touched the wall in 1:51.40 and Joe Umhofer posted a time of 1:54.22.
50 Free
Captain Sage Sungail logged a time of 19.52 in a 50 free preliminary heat, finishing 29th. Harold Lockhart touched the wall in 19.76, tying for 39th. Benjamin Chateigner and Eli Likins threw down times of 20.06 and 20.11, respectively. George Gonzalez and Thad Austin both made their ACC Championship debuts. Gonzalez posted a time of 20.14 while Austin finished in 20.36.
