PHOTO GALLERY DALLAS (SMU) - Head Coach Kevin Hudson has announced the addition of seven student-athletes to the men's soccer program in his first season at the helm. This class of student-athletes is ranked seventh nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com and is 15th on CollegeSoccerNews.com's list.

Kevin Meinecke,
Bryan Missana, Keaton Parks, Andrew Ramsey, and
Caleb Smith will join a Mustang squad that finished the 2014 season with a 10-6-2 record climbing as high as No. 21 in the NSCAA Division I poll and only graduated one student-athlete from its starting line-up.

This group contains not only elite soccer players, but also fantastic students and bright young men. I want to publically thank SMU Assistant Coach Alex Aldaz for the hard work and dedication he displayed while helping to recruit this class. Christian Boorom | M/F | 5-11 | 170 | Fort Lauderdale, Florida (IMG Academy)
Boorom currently trains at the IMG Academy as part of its U18 USSDA team. As a two-year starter, he currently leads the team with seven goals and four assists. He was also the team's leading scorer during the 2013-14 season with 11 goals and led the country with 34 of 35 games started en route to earning the team's Most Valuable Player award.
At 16, Boorom was also the youngest starter on Fort Lauderdale's USL, Premier Development League team, recording a goal and an assist. He was also a two-year letterwinner and starter at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School scoring 12 goals and recording six assists to help lead the team to a combined record of 34-5-5.
Boorom is a member of the Highest Honor Roll at Saint Thomas Aquinas maintaining a 4.0 GPA, and is an Honor Roll member at IMG Academy.

Christian is a tireless worker who can best be described as just a 'winner'. He always finds a way to get the job done and never leaves anything on the field. Christian is a powerful athlete with a nose for the goal. He is currently the captain and leading scorer for IMG Academy U18 Academy in Bradenton Florida. He has also played internationally and we expect those experiences to make the transition to college soccer very smooth.
Matthew McLaughlin | D/MF | 6-0 | 173 | Edmond, Oklahoma (Oklahoma FC)
A four-year starter and first-team all-city selection at Heritage Hall High School, McLaughlin helped his team to a pair of state championships in 2013 and 2014 and a combined 34-0 record. He has tallied 34 goals and 21 assists in three seasons and was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2014.
McLaughlin plays for Oklahoma Football Club making appearances in the state championship on five occasions, winning one.
An Honor Roll member throughout high school, McLaughlin also played four years of football and was named the all-district kicker of the year helping his team to a 2014 state championship.

Matthew comes to us from Heritage Hall and Oklahoma Football Club. He is a gifted athlete with the versatility to play as a defender or midfielder. He possesses a tremendous work rate and has the commitment to do all the dirty work necessary to be successful at a top Division I program.
Kevin Meinecke | D | 6-1 | 170 | Norwalk, Iowa (Shattuck St. Mary's)
Meinecke has two years of experience as the starting left defender for the USSDA Shattuck St. Mary's team. Meinecke led his 2013-14 Shattuck St. Mary's U16 Academy team to the USSDA playoff with a record of 12-8-7. He has his 2014-15 team positioned in first place of the Mid-American Division of the USSDA.

Kevin is a left defender who has the versatility to also play as center back. Kevin is willing to make strong tackles on the backline but also loves to get forward into the attack. This combination makes him an exciting prospect for the way that we like to play. He comes to us from Shattuck St. Mary High School that produced fellow Mustang John Lujano. We know that Tim Carter and his staff at Shattuck develop well rounded and fiercely competitive players who are well prepared for college soccer.
Bryan Missana | MF/F | 6-0 | 165 | Tampa, Florida (Shattuck St. Mary's)
A Region III Olympic Development Program participant, Missana is a four-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com and is No. 141 in the 2015 class on the OWhentheYanksClass.com list. He currently competes for Shattuck St. Mary's which ranks 14th in the nation in the Development Academy and is No. 1 in the Mid-American Division. During the 2014 season, Missana tallied 10 goals to lead the team, and has added four so far this season.

Bryan also comes to us from Shattuck St. Mary's and is a winger/forward with a solid blend of pace, athleticism and technique. He can play as a wide midfielder or a striker. Bryan's development at Shattuck will serve him well as he competes for a significant role in 2015.
Keaton Parks | MF | 6-2 | 160 | Frisco, Texas (Liverpool FC America)
Local talent Parks was a four-year letterwinner at Frisco Liberty who earned first-team all-state accolades as a junior and helped his team to a regional final appearance. As part of Liverpool FC America under Armando Pelaez, Parks served as team captain, and went on to play for two years as part of the Liverpool Warriors NPSL team. He was also a member of the '97 North Texas ODP team and competed at the 2011-12 US Soccer Federation Training Center as part of the U17 National Team.

Keaton is a player who snuck under the radar in recruiting. We believe that Keaton can develop into a key member of the SMU Soccer program. Keaton is 6-2 and possesses wonderful technique, passing range and vision. Coach Pelaez has allowed Keaton to flourish in a soccer environment that encouraged him to express his creativity and natural gifts.
Andrew Ramsey | D | 5-11 | 175 | Spring, Texas (Texans SC Houston)
A starting defender and two-year captain for Texans SC Houston, Ramsey helped his team to a seventh place finish at the 2013 USSDA Finals Week and was part of a defense that ranked in the top 10 in goals against in the country. Following the 2013-14 season, he was named the Texans SC Houston U16 Player of the Year.
In the classroom, Ramsey is in the top 25 of an 835-member graduating class, and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.

Andrew is a central defender who is strong in the air and on the tackle, but also has the composure to pass the ball out of tough situations. He was coached by Scott James at Texans SC Houston who also developed former Mustang Juan Castillo and current Mustang Michael King. Andrew has all of the qualities we look for in an SMU Soccer Player... He is extremely bright in the classroom, possesses great leadership qualities and intangibles as well as being a well rounder soccer player.
Caleb Smith | D | 5-9 | 135 | Arlington, Texas (Solar Chelsea SC)
The No. 12 player in the country, according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, Smith was called up to the U20 National Team to compete in the NTC Invitational in 2014 where he recorded an assist in a 4-0 victory over Bermuda. In 2013, he was a member of the USA U17 National Team Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida, and participated in the 2013 USSDA National Championship match against Real Salt Lake. This season, Smith has already been named a member of the NSCAA All-America Team and has been named the fourth best college bound prospect.

Caleb is truly one of the nation's top high school prospects possessing outstanding technique, athleticism, quickness and tactical understanding. He has played as a midfielder and left defender for the United States U17, U18 and U20 National Teams. Caleb developed with Solar Chelsea Soccer Club under the direction of Kevin Smith and Adrian Solca who have produced countless DI college players and professionals. We expect Caleb to make a strong impact in his freshman year.
Prior to the 2014 season, the Mustangs will kick off the spring portion of their schedule on Feb. 21 when they travel to Austin to take on the Austin Aztex out of the USL Pro League. SMU will also host three home events against Arizona United SC (Feb. 26), Tulsa Athletics (March 29) and Fort Worth Vaqueros (April 11).
