WALNUT, Calif. -- The SMU track and field team competed in the historic Mt. San Antonio College (SAC) Relays this weekend at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, California.
"With the completion of the Mt. SAC Relays, we are down to one competition to get ready for The American Outdoor Championship," said head coach Dave Wollman. "We have a month of training to get into top shape. I believe, based on the times and distances of this weekend's performances, we are in position to be in the mix in Connecticut in May."
Karoline Skatteboe put together an impressive weekend, setting new personal bests in both the 3,000-meter Steeplechase and 5,000-meter run. Skatteboe placed second in her Steeple heat (10:27.64) and 16th overall in the 5,000-meter (16:33.41).

In sprints, Stephanie Kalu tallied two top-20 finishes, placing seventh in the 100-meter (11.52) and 17th in the 200-meter (23.87).
"I was especially pleased with Kalu's double in the 100 and 200 and Skatteboe's personal bests in the steeple and 5000," said Wollman. "Caitlin Keen and Claire Trotter's performances in the 10,000 were also impressive. Those four athletes are locked in on personal excellence."
