PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU/The American) -- SMU junior Jenny Haglund was named a unanimous All-American Athletic Conference Team selection, the league office announced on Friday.
With all-conference selections as a freshman (Conference USA) and sophomore (The American), Haglund is the first three-time honoree since Laura Cross (2004-05 Western Athletic Conference, 2006 Conference USA).
The Karlstad, Sweden, native was the runner-up at The 2015 American Championship. She finished in a tie for Monifa Sealy (UCF) at 3-under after 54-holes but fell in the first playoff hole. It was her seventh top-10 finish of season.
Haglund will lead SMU into postseason when the Mustangs will compete in the NCAA Regional in St. George, Utah. This is SMU's third consecutive trip and seventh overall to an NCAA Regional. The three-day event begins on May 7.
