Series History…
This game marks the ninth meeting between SMU and Cincinnati, dating back to 1998. The Mustangs lead the series, 7-1-0, with a 4-0 record when facing off in Dallas.
The Last Time They Met…
The Mustangs faced the Bearcats twice last season, beating Cincinnati both times. The first was a 1-0 double overtime win at Cincinnati, before a, 2-1, win at Westcott Field in the first round of the American Athletic Conference tournament.
Trailing 1-0 in the 58th minute of the conference tournament, Brenden Lee received a cross from Jared Rice and punched it in from six yards out, to equalize the match at, 1-1.
Christian Boorom scored the game-winning goal with 23 seconds left in the game from a shot deflected off Cincinnati's goalkeeper, to give SMU the 2-1 victory over the Bearcats.
SMU outshot the Bearcats 20-8 overall, with Idi Camara leading the team with six shots. Lee and Boorom each had four with Kevin Meinecke adding two of his own. Of the 20 shots, five were on goal.
In the net for the Mustangs, goalkeeper Michael Nelson recorded three saves of the four shots on goal he faced.

The Last Time Out…
Four different Mustangs scored last Saturday as SMU grabbed the 4-0 win at Memphis.
In the eighth minute, Memphis sent an errant pass into the Tigers' back field, where Garrett McLaughlin was all alone. McLaughlin collected the bad pass and carried the ball into the far corner of the 18-yard box.
Jordan Cano gave SMU a 2-0 advantage in the 42nd minute, finishing a rebounded shot off a Mauro Cichero free kick.
In the second half, Christian Boorom collected a cross from McLaughlin in the 56th minute, and fired a shot from six-yards out, to give SMU a 3-0 advantage.
In the 68th minute, Dwight Williams, Jr., forced a turnover at midfield and carried the ball all the way to the top of the 18-yard box, where he netted a right-footed shot into the lower, near corner.
Michael Nelson preserved the clean sheet, recording two saves in 90 minutes of play.
