COLUMBIA, Mo. (SMU) – Junior
Bryce Klein led a trio of divers with a second place finish on 3 meter at the Mizzou Diving Invite Thursday-Saturday. Klein, who has already qualified for 2017 NCAA Zone Diving Championships on both springboards, was joined by sophomore
Stewart Brackett and senior
Lauren Lamb at the event.
Klein registered a six-round 410.45 in 3 meter finals, climbing two spots and improving on his 371.00 recorded in preliminary action. The total was well above the Zone standard of 320. The Southlake, Texas, native was just 8.30 points of event winner Juan Hernandez of LSU.
On one meter, Klein posted a 358.25 to qualify second for finals, and finished with a 337.20 for fifth.
Brackett competed on both 1 and 3 meter, finishing with totals of 199.10 and 195.35, respectively.
On the women's side, Lamb competed on both the 1 and 3 meter springboards, as well as platform. She earned her highest finish of 24th on tower, posting a 156.45. On 3 meter, Lamb's six-dive total was 188.50, while 1 meter saw the San Antonio native registered a 186.70.
As a program, Mustang divers return to action Jan. 3-5 for the Tennessee Diving Invite in Knoxville, while Klein will compete at USA Diving Nationals Dec. 13-18.
