"I'm proud of our team and the position they have put us in for tomorrow," SMU head coach Jason Enloe said. "Andrew's round today, paired with [Ryan] Burgess' and Austin [Smotherman]'s rounds were very, very impressive."
Buchanan paced the Mustangs in the second round, carding two front nine birdies, accompanied by an eagle on the third hole, a 605-yard, par-5. Later on the back nine, the junior tallied three birdies to finish with the team low-round. "We all need to be in the game tomorrow and have a complete team effort. If we do that we can come away with a great finish, if not contend for the title," Enloe added. "I can't wait to see how our boys stack up against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country. Tomorrow will be a lot of fun for our guys."
The final round of play at the Southern Highlands Collegiate begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT/8 PT. SMU will tee off beginning at 10:50 a.m. CT/8:50 PT, and be paired with Illinois and Florida.
