DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men's tennis team will host a watch party for the NCAA Selection Show Tuesday, beginning at 4 p.m. CT, inside the Edwin L. Cox Club Suite at the SMU Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs ended the regular season with a 20-8 overall record, marking it the 10th time in program history that the Mustangs finished with a 20-win season. SMU had seven wins against ranked opponents, including No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 17 USF and No. 20 Tulsa. The Mustangs were ranked as high as No. 25 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll (ITA) back on April 5.
The Mustangs also saw success individually in both singles and doubles play. In singles action, junior Hunter Johnson and senior Nate Lammons were ranked all season long and currently are the No. 72 and No. 101 players, respectively. In doubles play, twins Hunter and Yates Johnson were placed as high as No. 24 and currently are ranked No. 27. The duo of Lammons and Arkadijs Slobodkins was ranked as high as No. 16 and are No. 42 at the moment.
SMU is looking for its first NCAA appearance since 2008.
