Series History…
Saturday night's contest against TU presents a rematch of the 2015 AAC tournament semifinal game. The Mustangs and Tulsa tied in a 2-2 decision, however, Tulsa advanced to the conference tournament final on penalty kicks, 4-3. Dating back to 1980, SMU is 30-8-4 versus Tulsa, with the last SMU win coming at Westcott Field on Oct. 21, 2015. The Mustangs won in a 3-2 decision.

The Last Time They Met…
SMU fell to fourth-seeded Tulsa in penalty kicks, 4-3, in the semifinals of the AAC Tournament at Corbett Field in Tampa, Fla. Tulsa maintained a 1-0 lead until the 42nd minute when Camara found the equalizer on a penalty kick after a Golden Hurricane foul in the box.

TU found the next goal after Bradley Bourgeois received a pass and punched the ball into the back of the net. The Mustangs found the second equalizer of the day in the 88th minute, which eventually pushed the match into overtime, after Rice's corner kick hit the post and bounced off a Tulsa player and into the back of the net. The goal was his first of the season.
Mauro Cichero,
Jared Rice and
Idi Camara found the back of the net on their penalty kick attempts, but Tulsa had the advantage, 4-3, and advanced to the conference final against Connecticut.

Garrett McLaughlin leads the team in shots on goal percentage with 60.0 percent. After a trio of impressive finds in the Akron game,
Eddie Munjoma now leads the Mustangs in assists with three.
Michael Nelson has tallied 32 saves with a 72.7 save percentage, while
Nick Ruiz recorded five saves in 73 minutes of play during the Akron game. The Mustangs have netted 11 goals on 90 attempts and average 11.2 shots per game.

After eight non-conference games, the Mustangs rank fifth in the AAC in points with 32, averaging 4.00 per game. SMU is first in saves (37) averaging 4.62 per game, fourth in shots (90) averaging 11.25 per game, fourth in assists (10) averaging 1.25 per match, and tied for fourth in goals (11) averaging 1.38 per match.
Individually,
Mauro Cichero is tied for sixth in the American with seven total points, averaging 1.00 per game.
Brenden Lee is tied for 10th with six, averaging 0.86 per game. Cichero is tied for fourth in shots with 20, averaging 2.86 attempts per match, while
Emil Cuello is eighth with 14, averaging 1.75 shots per game. Cichero and Lee are tied for third in goals with three apiece, averaging 0.43 per game.
Eddie Munjoma is tied for fourth in assists with three, averaging 0.60 per game. Tied for seventh in the AAC,
Bryce Clark is averaging 0.25 assists per game, with two on the season.

About the Golden Hurricane…
Tulsa enters conference play with a 3-2-2 overall record, and a 1-1-1 record on the road. The defending 2015 American champions are led by top scorer Ray Saari. The senior midfielder has recorded nine points for the Hurricane, with three goals and three assists in seven games. He has posted a 55.0 shot on goal percentage. Saari is the only Golden Hurricane who has attempted a penalty kick, netting two on two attempts this season. Sophomore midfielder Jacob Gooden has also scored three goals on 20 shots, with 11 on goal. Freshman Matthew Puig forward has netted two goals for TU with a 36.4 shot on goal percentage.
