Anna Novosadova placed sixth in the pentathlon on day one of the J.D. Martin Invitational.
Novosadova completed the five events with 2,998 points in her first career pentathlon. The Coppell, Texas, native placed in the top five in among the 11 participants in three of the five events.
She placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.27 seconds to earn 854 points. In the long jump, she finished fifth with a mark of 16 feet, 5 inches (5.00m) for 559 points. Her highest finish came in the 800-meters, which is the last event. She finished second with a time of 2 minutes, 33.71 seconds to secure 636 points.
The Mustangs return to the Mosier Indoor Facility Saturday for the second day of the J.D. Martin Invitational. The meet resumes at 10 a.m. CT with the women's weight throw, while action on the track begins at noon CT with the mile. Live results can be found at
