FRISCO, Texas (SMU) – Freshman
Chelsea Francis led the Mustangs with a fifth-and-sixth place finish in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes on day one of the Indoor Track & Field Classic.
Francis ran a personal best to win her heat in a time of 7.53 seconds to advance to the finals. The Carrollton, Texas, native continues to move up in the record book as she now has the fourth-fastest time in program history. In the final, Francis placed fifth with a time of 7.55. In the 200-meters, Francis time of 24.99 ranks 10th all-time in program history.
Freshman
India Simmons placed sixth in the 400-meters with a time of 58.26, while junior
Anna Novosadova finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 9.10.
The Mustangs return to the Ford Center at the Star Friday for the College Classic II. The meet will be streamed live on
FloTrackPro. Running events will begin at 11 a.m. CT. Live results can be found at

The SMU distance runners and throwers will compete in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Music City Challenge on Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility. Friday's events will start at 4 p.m. CT, while Saturday's competition is set to start at 11 a.m. CT. Live results can be found at
