STANFORD, Calif. (SMU) — The SMU men's golf team shot a 5-over-par 285 on day three of The Goodwin to finish seventh in a field of 24 teams. The Mustangs carded a three-day total of 872 (+32, 284-303-285) to earn their third straight top-10 finish.
Junior
Gray Townsend fired a 2-under-par 68 on day three to climb 24 positions on the leaderboard and finish tied for 31st overall (+7, 75-74-68—217). The Winston-Salem, N.C., native posted an unblemished front-nine, with birdies on holes No. 1 and No. 9, before shooting an even back-nine.
Andrew Buchanan finished the tournament tied for 36th after shooting a 1-over-par 71. The Los Alto, Calif., native tallied a three-day score of 218 (+8, 72-75-71). Freshman
Daniel Connolly shot an even-par 70 on day three to finish with a score of 220 (+10, 71-79-70). The San Francisco, native, jumped 16 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 46th.
Alex Higgs finished the three-day tournament tied for 60th (+12, 71-75-76—222).
Henrik Olsson finished tied for 100th (+19, 70-80-79—229).
Next up, SMU will play in the Clemson Invitational, April 7-9.
