DALLAS (SMU) – The Mustangs wrap up their six-game homestand as they face Oklahoma Baptist and Abilene Christian in a Friday doubleheader. Matches are set for 11 am and 5 pm from the SMU Tennis Complex.  Â

SMU will be looking to stop a brief two-game skid after losing to No. 23 LSU, 6-1, and UTSA 4-3. The Mustangs holds a 7-5 record on the season including a 7-3 at their home venue. Three of the Mustang losses have come to programs ranked in the latest ITA rankings (No. 3 Texas, No. 20 LSU and No. 37 Arkansas). The other two losses came in narrow 4-3 decisions against Northern Colorado and UTSA. SMU has posted seven convincing wins including victories over Nebraska, Incarnate Word and Arkansas Pine Bluff.

-The Mustangs have found their most success at line one this season boasting a 10-2 record (Sarrio 7-2), (Rosales 2-0), (Vrsbky 1-0).

Carles Sarrio is ranked No. 50 in the latest ITA Singles rankings, he peaked this season at No. 48. Sarrio was named American Conference Player of the Week after he beat No. 4 Christian Sigsgaard of Texas, 6-4, 6-0. Sarrio is 7-2 on the season. Sarrio topped another ranked opponent when he defeated Kai Breitbach of UTSA.

Jan-Simon Vrbsky and
Roberto Rosales are tied for second on the Mustangs in wins with a seven wins a peice.

-12 different Mustangs have won a singles match during the 2019 campaign.

-At line one doubles, the Mustangs hold an 8-2 record led by the duo of Vrbsky and Vaise who have a 5-2 record. Last week, the pair rolled to 6-1 win over the 30
th-ranked duo of Rafeal Wagner and Joey Thomas of LSU.

-SMU has won eight of the 12 doubles points this season. The winner of the doubles point has gone on to win 11 of the 12 matches with the lone exception coming in the Mustang's loss to Northern Colorado.

-The is the fifth doubleheader the Mustangs have faced this season. The Mustangs swept three doubleheaders (Prairie View 2x, UTPB & Midwestern State, Ark-PB & Incarnate Word) and split the other (Nebraska & Northern Colorado).

ABOUT OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
The Bison of Oklahoma Baptist come into Dallas with a 2-0 record not including a handful of exhibitions against Division 1 opponents. The Bison were picked to finish fifth in the American Southwest conference coming off a season where they posted a 7-8 record. OBU will open play their first home match of the season against Kansas Wesleyan. Â OBU already faced the Mustang's other Friday opponent, Abilene Christian, losing 7-0.

This is the first meeting between SMU and Oklahoma Baptist.
ABOUT ABILENE CHRISTIAN
ACU is led by the brother combo of Jonathan and Josh Sheey who have shared the line one duties for the Wildcats. ACU is riding a five-match winning streak and boast a 10-3 record on the 2019 season. The The Wildcats haven't seen action since Feb. 9, when they took down Montana, 5-2. Their three losses on the season came to Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Tulsa.

SERIES HISTORY
SMU holds a spotless 8-0 record against Abilene Christian, with all eight matchups coming from the Mustangs home venue. The Mustangs haven't conceded a point to ACU in each of the last four meetings which includes three 7-0 sweeps. Last season, the Mustangs won 4-0 with all three singles victories coming by then freshmen (
Tomas Vaise,
Jan-Simon Vrbsky and
Gardiner Perotti).
