Nashville, Tenn (SMU) – The SMU Track & Field team travels to Nashville to compete at the Music City Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt, Friday through Saturday, in what will be SMU's final regular season event of the Indoor Season.

The action from Nashville will begin with field events on Friday starting at 3:30 p.m., and first of the track events are set for 7 p.m. The full slate of Saturday action begins at 10:00 a.m.

Along with hosts Vanderbilt, and the Mustangs, the field includes 26 programs, including five from the American Conference: SMU, Cincinnati, Memphis, Tulane and UCF. Filling out the rest of the field are Alabama, East Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Tech, Illinois State, Indiana State, Lipscomb, Maryland, Michigan, Middle Tennessee, Milligan (TN), Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Dakota State, Ole Miss, Towson, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

So far, through three indoor events, the Mustangs have posted three top times in the conference. Chelsea Francis has the AAC's best times in the 60m and 200m while Nicole Iloanya has the longest triple jump. Hannah Miller (5000m) and Chika Iwuamadi both have second best conference marks.

Nationally, Francis' SMU record-breaking mark in the 60m ranks tied for 11th and her 200m is 42nd. Iwuamadi's 400m time ranks 23rd. In the 5000m, Miller is ranked 34th, while Svenja Ojstersek's ranking is 51st. Illoyana's triple jump mark is 22nd in the country.

After Nashville, the Mustangs will have a one-weekend break before heading to Birmingham to compete at the American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship.
