DALLAS (SMU) - Seven Mustangs are headed to Sacramento to compete in the NCAA West Preliminaries, beginning on Thursday. The Mustangs earned eight total entries across six different events at the Preliminaries, set for Sacramento State's Hornet Stadium.
Â
The Mustangs are fresh off a strong American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships performance with a third place finish. The Mustangs brought home nine total medals, including eight on the final where the squad moved up seven spots on the leaderboard. Â
Â
The first Mustang event of the Prelims will be the 400 Hurdles first round at 6:30 p.m. C.T. on Friday with

Â
Junior

Francis won two golds at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships and was named Most Outstanding Track Performer. She is seeded 6th in the 100 and 13th in the 200. She set the SMU record in the 100-meter earlier in the season.
A pair of Mustangs are set to compete in the 10,000 meters out west which is slated for 11:00 p.m. Thursday night. Junior
