SMU men's tennis heads to Fort Worth for a rivalry match with No. 6 TCU on Saturday at 2 p.m followed by a home match on Sunday against Abilene Christian.

The Mustangs continue the brief road swing with another ranked matchup, this time against the 6
th-ranked Horned Frogs. Last time out, the Mustangs battled to the final point in a tough 4-3 road loss to No. 34 USF. Before that, the Mustangs recorded five wins in six matches over a two week homestand. The marquee win came against No. 35 San Diego as the then 50
th-ranked Mustangs knocked off the Toreros, 4-1. SMU jumped up to No. 44 in the ITA Rankings after the last matches.

SINGLES UPDATE

Clarke Wilson was named ITA UTR National Player of the Week after a 3-0 week with wins in both of the Mustangs ranked matchups. The award is given to the Division I player whose increase in UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) was indicative of his or her high level performance.
-Wilson has a 8-4 record on the season and has won a team-high six consecutive matches.

Julian Steinhausen leads the Mustangs with 11 dual match singles wins during the season. He's won nine of his last 11 matches.

Liam Krall has recorded an 9-6 record, the second most wins on the team. The freshman is 9-4 at the top two lines.

Jordi Redelijk has a three match winning streak including a win in the matchup with No. 34 USF. The sophomore has a 7-3 record this season.

Caleb Chakravarthi has a ranked win on the season when he knocked off No. 69 of Oklahoma. The senior captain is 5-7 at line one. Â
-The Mustangs are 16-10 in third sets this season.
-SMU is 7-2 in supertiebreakers this season.Â

-The Mustangs have won six consecutive doubles points including two over ranked opponents.
-SMU has recorded a doubles win on at least one line in 16 consecutive matches.

Liam Krall recorded a ranked win over No. 21 in the Mustang matchup with No. 35 USF. The pairing took down Feguson/Luquet, 6-4 to remain unbeaten (3-0) on the season.

Julian Steinhausen have been pairng together of late and have started their partnership with a 2-0 record.

ABOUT TCU
The Horned Frogs boast one of the top teams in the country with their current ranking of No. 6. Along with Ohio State, TCU is one of the only two teams in the country to have three nationally-ranked doubles pairings, with the top line being Gray and Fearley at No. 15. TCU has four nationally-ranked singles players in No. 21 Gray, No. 47 Fomba, No. 113 Jong and No. 125 Fearnley. Last time out, TCU dropped a road match to No. 2 Florida. Earlier this season, the Horned Frogs knocked off No. 1 USC 4-3 to win the ITA National Championship.

ACU has a 6-8 record on the season and is fresh off a win over Nicholls. ACU battled a tough early slate facing current ranked teams in their first five matches. Savan Chhabra plays line one for the Wildcats with a 5-8 record. He teams with Riley Tran for the line one doubles pairing. The Wildcats faced UTA on Saturday before their matchup with the Mustangs.
