Dallas, Texas – The SMU men's swimming and diving team fell to Texas 164-127 in today's Senior Day meet in Dallas. A number of Mustangs set career best times during the meet.
The Mustangs got started with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay, clocking a time of 1:27.74.
Russell Exum (9:10.23),
Pierce Thionville (9:32.61), and
Joshua Miller (9:39.42) all set career bests in the 1000 freestyle.
Joe Carson set his best mark in the 200 freestyle at 1:41.43.
The Mustangs finished two, three in the 100 breaststroke with Collin Feehery at 53.61 and
Caleb Rhodenbaugh at 54.39.
Aedan Lewis (53.87) and
Angus Corbeau (55.11) also set career best times in the race.
Kolos Nagy set a new career best in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:48.69.
Justin Baker got SMU their first win of the day, taking first-place in the 50 freestyle at 19.59.
Feehery (1:55.78) and Rhodenbaugh (1:57.67) finished two, three once again, this time in the 200 breaststroke.
Aedan Lewis set his career mark at 1:58.04 in the race. Feehery also took second in the 200 IM.
Exum set a career best and took second place in the 100 butterfly at 47.80.
Wyatt Welch also set his career best at 49.98.
On the diving side,
Parker Hardigree finished in second place on 3 meter with a score of 389.55.
Peter Smithson finished in third place on the 1 meter, posting a score of 339.68.

UP NEXT
The Mustangs are back in action tomorrow, February 5, for pre-conference time trials before hosting the American Athletic Conference Championships February 16-19 at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium. This will be the second consecutive year that the Mustangs will be hosting the event.
