Hardigree Becomes All-American At NCAA Championships

Feehery sets school record in 200 IM

ATLANTA (SMU) – Parker Hardigree headlined the Mustangs' first day of competition at the NCAA Championships with his All-American performance on 1-meter diving. Colin Feehery also posted a school record in the 200 IM this morning.

Feehery and Cotton Fields got the day started with the 200 IM prelims. Fields took the pool first in heat three. The Freshman finished third in his heat with a time of 1:44.67, just four hundredths of a second off his personal best. This was good for 41st overall. Feehery took the pool in heat four and raced to a school record of 1:44.01, good for 35th in the field of 58.

Hardigree concluded the day for SMU on 1-meter diving. The senior finished prelims in 15th place out of 47 divers with a score of 332.55. He advanced to the Consolation Finals where he finished 5th out of 8 divers with a score of 342.60, placing him in 13th overall for the 1-meter championships. Hardigree's performance earned him Honorable Mention All-American honors. He becomes the 28th 1-meter All-American at SMU.

Four Mustangs will be in action tomorrow for day three of the NCAA Championships. Colin Feehery and Cotton Fields will race in the 400 IM at 9:00 a.m. CT, Caleb Rhodenbaugh in the 100 breaststroke at 9:56 a.m., and Peter Smithson will compete on 3-meter diving at 11:30 a.m.
