LUBBOCK, Texas (SMU) – The No. 39 SMU women's tennis team earned its fourth consecutive win on Thursday, defeating No. 60 Denver 5-2, snapping the opponent's eight-match win streak.

Winslow Huth opened the day with a 6-4 win on court three, giving the Mustangs a one-set advantage in doubles.

Jackie Nylander and Denver's Britt Pursell/Camille Verden-Anderson battled to an 8-8 draw in the tiebreak, before a two-point push that included a heated set point, which Nylander ended with a play along the left line to clinch the doubles point for SMU. The win improved the pair's dual doubles record to 5-1.
On court one, graduate senior
Lexi Keberle defeated Denver's Taylor Melville 6-1, 6-4, Keberle's seventh-consecutive win. With the win, Keberle's dual singles record improves to a team-best 11-3.
Doyle, on line two, defeated Britt Purcell in a 10-8 third-set tiebreak, handing Purcell just her second loss of the spring, and improving her dual singles record to 6-6.
Nylander won her third straight singles match on court three, defeating Andrea Burguete Beltran 6-2, 6-0, snapping a six-match win streak for Beltran that extended back to Feb. 19.
Claudia Bartolome defeated Verden-Anderson on line four, 6-3, 6-2. Verden-Anderson had won six consecutive singles matches, including a win against No. 71 Iowa.
SMU (11-6) returns to the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Sunday to host No. 25 Kansas at 12 p.m.
