FORTH WORTH (SMU)- The Mustangs began their Fall 2022 season on Thursday at TCU at the ITA Regional Championships. Seniors
Hadley Doyle and
Jackie Nylander individually continued to day four of the tournament. Nylander finished in the quarterfinals of the singles main draw and Doyle finished in the semifinals of the singles main draw.
They continued onto day five of the tournament as doubles partners winning the doubles consolation bracket by defeating TCU's Tsai/ Polk 8-5. Doyle and Nylander competed against teammates
Lana Mavor and
Drew Morris in the semifinals defeating them 8-7 (9-7) to advance to the consolation finals. Mavor and Morris both competed in the singles consolation bracket and both advanced the first two rounds but fell in the round of 16.
Winslow Huth and
Maja Makoric competed in the doubles main draw and fell in the round of 16. Makoric competed in the singles main draw and made it to the round 32 falling in a 3
rd set tiebreaker to TCU's Helena Narmont. Huth competed in the qualifying singles bracket making it to the consolation round of 16. Huth was joined by
Cambelle Bouchard and
Reka Patel in the qualifying singles bracket. Bouchard made it to the round of 32 of the qualifying singles main bracket and Patel made it to the round of 32 qualifying singles consolation bracket.
The Mustangs are in action again Oct. 1 as they travel to North Carolina for the ITA All-American Championships.
