DALLAS (SMU) – Peyton Annen scored SMU's match-winning goal off an assist from Leah Chancey to seal the Mustangs' 1-0 shutout victory over UTSA on Thursday at Washburne Stadium.
SMU improves to 6-3-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in conference play.
Annen's goal in the 16th minute marked her second match-winning goal of the season, with Leah Chancey tallying her first career assist on the play. Annen's first goal of the year came in SMU's 1-0 victory over Oklahoma State on Sept. 10.

Samantha Estrada tallied three saves for the Mustangs, bumping her season total to 42. Estrada entered the match with second ranked saves-per-game average in the AAC (4.88). Thursday's win over the Roadrunners counts as Estrada's second 90-minute clean sheet of the season, the first coming versus Oklahoma State.

The Mustangs have now allowed one or fewer goals in 22 of 29 matches played under Head Coach Nicole Nelson. Â UTSA's three shots on goal mark the fifth time this season SMU has held its opponent to four or fewer shots on goal.
