OXFORD, Miss.- No. 68 SMU couldn't pick up momentum fast enough on Sunday afternoon, falling, 5-2, to Ole Miss at the Palmer/ Salloum Tennis Facility. The Mustangs dropped the doubles point and fell behind in four singles matches resulting in the fifth loss of the season. Adam Neff and Julian Steinhausen picked up the two points for the Mustangs with straight set victories on Court 1 and 5 in singles.

SMU dropped the doubles point for just the third time all season, falling on Court 1 and 2. Liam Krall and Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo recorded the only win taking down Noah Schlagenhauf and Isac Stomberg 6-2. They are now 6-1 as a pair, all on Court 3.

SMU won three out of the six first sets. The three matches that lost the first sets came back in the second to force a deciding third set.

Julian Steinhausen picked up the first win for the Mustangs in singles for the second week in a row. Steinhausen dominated Noah Schlagenhauf on Court 5 winning 6-3, 6-4.

Adam Neff tied up the score 2-2 with his straight set victory on Court 1. Neff took out the No.68- ranked singles player, Nikola Slavic, 6-3, 6-4. Neff is now 4-2 in dual matches this season making this his first victory in a ranked matchup.

The Rebels clinched the match with three straight third set singles victories on Courts 4, 3 and 6.

The Mustangs are now 6-5 in dual matches this season.

SMU will continue on the road as the team travels to Stillwater, Oklahoma to take on No. 30 Oklahoma State on March 5 at 1:00 p.m.
