DALLAS (SMU)-- SMU had three football players named to the Dave Campbell's All-Texas Team, the publication announced.
Earning first-team recognition was offensive lineman
Justin Osborne. Last season, Osborne earned second-team nods on the All-AAC, DCTF All-Texas, and Phill Steele All-AAC teams after making 11 starts for the Mustangs and playing in all 13 games as a junior. Osborne was named to the 2023 preseason All-AAC Athlon Sports first team, and Phil Steele preseason All-AAC third team.
Tight end RJ Maryland and kicker Collin Rogers were named on the second team offense list.
Maryland played in all 13 games during his first season on the Hilltop. Maryland registered 28 receptions for 296 yards and six touchdowns, good for the second most touchdowns in a single season by a Mustang tight end. He was named a College Football Network Freshman All-America Honorable Mention.
Rogers played in all 13 games and was perfect on PATs with a school-record 56. Rogers registered 106 points (5th AAC) was 16-20 on FGs (4th AAC), including perfect at under 49 yards. He was named a CFN Freshman All-America Honorable Mention and to the Pro Football Focus All-AAC first team.
