DALLAS (SMU) - "The Stampede" officially launches Thursday night with a welcome event for new SMU students at Moody Coliseum.
 
The new nickname for the student section at SMU Athletics events won out from more than 700 submissions during the spring semester. The four most popular were put to a student vote with The Stampede winning out.
 
The Stampede will consist of Ford Stadium sections 123 to 128 and Moody Coliseum sections 100 to 101, 108 to 109, 112 and 115. In 2022, SMU students set single-game and season attendance records at Ford Stadium. There will be signage and markings for The Stampede at each venue.
 
The Stampede will receive weekly emails with how to acquire tickets and gain admission to SMU Athletics events. For more information on student tickets, click HERE.
