WACO, Texas — In its last road match of the regular season, No. 45 SMU women's tennis fell against No. 34, 4-2. Despite the loss, the Mustangs opened the match winning the first point of the match through doubles play.

Lana Mavor paired with freshman Carolien McGinley, defeating Baylor's Sierra Berry and Zuzanna Kubacha (6-1). Drew Morris and Hadley Doyle clinched the Mustangs the doubles point, taking down Liubov Kostenko and Isabella Harvison — 6-1.

Freshman Millie Skelton paired with Maja Makoric, a Slovenia native. While Skelton and Makoric were up 4-3, their match went unfinished once Morris and Doyle secured the doubles win for SMU.

In singles play, Makoric won her eleventh singles match of the year with a 6-4, 6-3 sweep over Berry. Beside's Makoric's win, the Mustangs also won two other sets.

Mavor won her first set against 6-2, going on to lose the match in three sets. Skelton also won her first set of the night, 6-4, with her second set going unfinished at 6-6 against Danielle Tuhten.

SMU lost all of the remaining singles matches.

The Mustangs return to the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex to host Memphis for Senior Day. First serve is set for 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, with the senior day ceremony following the conclusion of the match.
