DALLAS (SMU) – No. 16 SMU will host FIU for a midweek non-conference match, Wednesday.
The match will be the Mustangs' fifth non-conference match of the season. They are undefeated in non-conference play with a 3-0-2 record this season.
Mustangs vs. Panthers
- This match will be the 22nd meeting between the former American Athletic Conference opponents.
- SMU leads the overall series 18-3 and 7-2 at home.
- Washburne Stadium has only hosted this matchup once, where the Mustangs won 6-4.
- SMU has scored six goals in one match twice against FIU (in 2022 & 2006).
- The Mustangs and Panthers tied 2-2 in Miami last season. Prior to last season's meeting, SMU has won four consecutive matches.

- After week four, the Mustangs were ranked 16th in the United Soccer Coaches Polls.
- This week, six ACC teams were ranked in the top 25, covering the first, second, and third spots. Pitt tops the rankings, followed by Stanford in second place and UNC in third. Clemson (12th), SMU (16th) and Virginia Tech (17th) rounds up the group.
- NC State is the only ACC side just outside the top 25 with seven votes.

- SMU is ranked 20th in the first NCAA RPI rankings this season.
