BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) -- The SMU record books were arranged after today's competition with two Mustangs breaking into the top-10 performances in program history.
The 400 produced a personal record for each Mustang who raced with Ariana Sutton coming out on top with a time of 54.23 -- the fourth fastest time in SMU history. Sutton achieved ACC standard today with her performance and moved her into the top 10 in the conference. Camryn McPhaul ran her fastest time of 56.64 and Kirin Chacchia shortly followed with 56.68.
Hedda Kvalvag now sits as the fifth best triple jumper to compete for SMU after a mark of 12.81 in today's competition. This PR jump placed her third at the Ted Nelson Invitational and also achieved the ACC standard.
Emily Waller ran the best 800 of her career thus far with a time of 2:14.90.
"With this being the second competition of the season, the consistency and hard work of the women is paying off," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said.
The Mustangs will be back in Boston for more competition on January 31.
