Malaya Jones has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.
Jones averaged 5.33 kills per set and 6.08 points per set this week in the Mustangs' two sweeps over Wake Forest and NC State. She ended the week with a .625 hitting percentage, which led the ACC and ranked fifth best nationally. Jones also recorded just two attack errors on her combined 48 swings in the two matchups.

On Sunday against the Wolfpack, Jones broke the program record for single match hitting percentage on 20 or more attempts, hitting .750. The hitting percentage is tied for the second highest percentage with 20+ attempts across the NCAA all season. Jones tallied 16 kills on 20 swings with four blocks in the outing.

In the first match of the weekend against Wake Forest, Jones went for 16 kills on 28 swings, hitting .536 with just one error. She also added six digs and three blocks in the Friday match. Â

Jones and the No. 7 Mustangs next battle No. 21 North Carolina on Friday, Oct. 31 in Chapel Hill. The match will air on the ACC Network at 5 p.m. CT.
