The Mustangs also finished with three aces in the frame.

A 5-0 run by the Mustangs at the midway point gave SMU the jolt it needed to win set two 25-16. Jones got going in the second set with five kills on six attempts.

Up 13-5 in the third, SMU put together six straight points to extend an already lengthy advantage in the final frame. The Mustangs held Boston College to their lowest hitting percentage of the match at a .050 percentage in the third, while swinging at a .684 clip themselves.
