Duke's Connor Krug defeated Maks Silagy (6-4, 6-2) to win the first singles point of the day and extend the hosts' lead to 2-0.
 
No. 71 Williams defeated Georgiev (6-3, 6-1) on court two before No. 36 Rodenas clinched the match for the hosts with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Jerry Barton on court one.
