DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis is set to visit Boston College for its regular season finale at Weymouth, Mass., on Saturday.

MUSTANGS IN THE RANKINGS (APRIL 8)
  • SMU was ranked No. 66 in the latest ITA Team Rankings.
  • Trevor Svajda moved up to No. 45 in the singles rankings.
  • Svajda and Cloud were ranked No. 52 as a doubles pair, while Georgi Georgiev and Ofek Shimanov were ranked No. 68.
SERVIN' SVAJDA
  • Svajda was ranked No. 45 in the current ITA singles rankings.
  • He has five wins over ranked opponents this season.
  • Most recently defeating the No. 9-ranked Carl Emil Overbeck from California.
  • He made the quarterfinal round of the San Diego Open last weekend to earn a qualifier wild card to the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. He fell in the first round of the Indian Wells Open.
  • Sophomore Trevor Svajda joined SMU as the No. 1 tennis recruit in the nation.
  • Svajda was ranked no. 19 at the start of the 2024 fall season and ended the season ranked 48th.
  • Svajda defeated No. 77 ranked Azuma Visaya in the first flight singles on the Mustangs' season-opener at Hawaii.
  • He earned an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Individual Championship after reaching the semifinal round of the ITA Sectional Championship with a win over Nebraska's Calvin Meuller in the quarterfinals.
  • Svajda earned AAC All-Conference honors (singles) and was named the AAC Freshman of the Year in 2024.
  • Svajda has a 16-7 record in his freshman season with the Mustangs.
  • Svajda earned five singles wins over ranked opponents last season (No. 17, No. 29, No. 35, No. 68, No. 107).
GEORGI "6-0, 6-0" GEORGIEV
  • Georgiev earned his first collegiate ranking at No. 117 on Feb.25 after going undefeated against ranked opponents in the ITA National Indoor Championships.
  • He grabbed back-to-back wins against ranked opponents. He defeated No. 69-ranked Charlelie Cosnet from Kentucky (6-0, 6-3) before defeating No. 117 Patorn Hanchaikul (6-0, 6-3).
  • He has won two matches without dropping a game (6-0, 6-0).
SMU vs BOSTON COLLEGE
  • The match will be the first meeting between SMU and Boston College.
SMU vs No. 2 TCU
  • No. 70-ranked doubles pair Jack Pinnington and Cooper Woestendick defeated No. 68 Georgi Georgiev and Ofek Shimanov (6-2) to take the Frogs' first win of the day. Lui Maxted and Filip Apltauer won over Vikas Deo and Xavier Calvelo (6-3) to win the doubles point.
  • No. 26 Maxted extended the lead to 2-0 for TCU by defeating Shimanov on court two (6-2, 6-1).
  • Cloud fell to Roger Pascual on court six (6-3, 6-2) as TCU made it a 3-0 scoreline. No. 88 Woestendick defeated Barton on court three (7-5, 6-4) and clinched the match for the hosts.
