BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) -- Freshman Jasmine Franklin has added her name to the SMU record books for the second meet in a row – this time in the 200 at Texas A&M's 44 Farms Team Invitational. Franklin ran 24.13, which puts her eighth all time by a Mustang. 

"The last few weeks have brought great times and moved SMU up in the NCAA -- a nice place to be heading into our final month of the regular season," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. 

Kirin Chacchia placed fifth in this weekend's 400m Hurdles race with a time of 58.63. Emily Waller ran her best time yet this season of 1:00.09 to place ninth. The pair are both in the top 15 times within the conference. 

"Chacchia, Franklin and Waller's momentum continues as they better the all-time list," Haynes said. 

Gabriella Ayiteyfio also achieved some of her season's best marks along with a personal best this weekend. In the long jump, she jumped 5.73 meters and threw 35.47 meters in the javelin – both season best marks.  

In the 100m Hurdles, Nea Sanders placed 11th with 13.67 and Ayietyfio followed with a PR time of 13.92. Kelis Jules ran 13.98. 

Next weekend, the team will be back in California for the Bryan Clay Invite and Beach Invitational.
