AUSTIN, Texas (SMU) - SMU rowing finished up competition at the Longhorn Invitational from Lake Walter E. Long on Saturday competing in five races.
 
"The team had some good moments today and in some ways we have a lot of work to do as we prepare for championship racing," said head coach Chase Graham. "The highlight was the 2nd varsity 8, they had a competitive run alongside UCF, and were able to get a win over an Oklahoma crew that beat them last weekend. Led by senior coxswain Jo Wilson who was very steady as she guided the crew to a solid race. Stroke seat Talei Dunn is a fiery competitor and her confidence is contagious in any boat she's in."{ 
 
"We made some lineup changes that positively effected some boats while others need a little more work and time to perform where we know they are capable of performing. I'm excited to get back to work on Monday as we prepare for our teams first ever ACC Championship."

SMU competed in five races on the second day of competition. In the 3v8, SMU finished in 7:21.441. IN the 2v4, SMU crossed the line in 9:07.723 to take third.
 
The varsity four, finished in third with a time of 8:09.188, 1.664 seconds behind second place Oklahoma. In the 2v8, SMU beat Oklahoma by 4.979 seconds to take second place. In the 1v8, SMU posted a time of 7:12.125 to finish in third.
 
Next up for the Mustangs, the team heads to Clemson, S.C. for the program's first ACC Rowing Championship.
