DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Football has six players selected to the preseason Dave Campbell's Texas Football All-Texas teams in a release from the publication on Monday.
RJ Maryland,
Isaiah Nwokobia and
Logan Parr were named to the first team, while
Deuce Harmon,
Terry Webb and
PJ Williams were second-team selections.
Nwokobia was one of the premier defensive players in the ACC last season, earning first-team honors with his play, finishing with an 88.1 defensive grade by Pro Football Focus (PFF), the eighth-highest among any player who played 300 snaps in the conference last year.
Maryland is set to return from injury after setting the program's record for most touchdown receptions by a tight end last year, while Parr and Williams helped anchor one of the best offensive lines in the country.
Harmon looks to build on a successful first year with SMU in 2024, which resulted in one of the best secondary units in the country that ranked in the top 20 in defensive touchdowns (fifth) and passes intercepted (14th).
Webb is a newcomer set to make an impact on the defensive line after spending last year at Texas State, starting in all 13 games.
