ROUND TWO ON THE HILLTOPÂ
• After taking down the unbeaten Panthers and ending their nation-leading 58-match home winning streak, No. 6 SMU Volleyball hosts No. 2 Pittsburgh Sunday, Oct. 11, for round two of Wednesday's electric match Sunday in Dallas.Â
• The Mustangs enter the match winners of seven straight matches, the longest streak of the season in the ACC, and the longest streak to start ACC play since joining the league in 2024.Â
• SMU looks to hand Pittsburgh back-to-back losses for the first time since the beginning of last season. Â
• The Mustangs sit tied for first in the ACC with a 5-0 record, entering the match level with Louisville (5-0) and North Carolina (5-0) in the standings. Â
• A win for the Mustangs would even the overall series between the programs. Pitt holds a 3-2 series record. Â
• Each of the two matches between the two programs held in Moody Coliseum has gone to a fifth set. Each team has won one match in Dallas, with the Panthers winning the most recent in the first of the annual home-and-home series.Â
MUSTANGS ON ABCÂ
• The SMU volleyball match against No. 2 Pittsburgh on Sunday, October 11, at 2 p.m. CT at Moody Coliseum has moved from ESPN to ABC. The match marks SMU Volleyball's first-ever appearance on the network.   Â
• Kevin Barnett, Missy Whittemore and Michella Chester will call the match for ABC. Â
WEDNESDAY NOTABLESÂ
• Five Mustangs went for double-digit kills on the night, led by middle blocker Natalia Newsome, who logged a career-high 17 kills on a .519 hitting percentage. Â
• Sophomore outside hitter Suli Davis reached double-digit kills for the 14th time this season, logging 17 kills, nine digs, and four blocks. Â
• Outside hitter Jadyn Livings was crucial for the Mustangs, logging a season-best 13 kills on a .435 clip against the Panthers. Â
• Gabi Placide and Favor Anyanwu rounded out the double-digit kill performers, each registering 10 in the match. Anyanwu also added nine blocks. Â
• Victoria Harris put up her second 20-dig match of the season against the Panthers, finishing with exactly 20 in the four-setter. She was also a force at the service line for the Mustangs, finishing with four aces and tying the career-high she set earlier in the year. Â
• Redshirt freshman setter Hannah Beauford paced the Mustangs to a .347 hitting percentage, dishing out a career-high 54 assists with four digs and four blocks. Â
• Defensively, the Mustangs out-dug the Panthers 61-48 and outblocked Pittsburgh 12.5 to 6, its third straight match with 12 or more blocks. It was the most any team has blocked against Pitt this season. Â
• The Mustangs handed Pitt its first set loss since Sept. 6. The Panthers had won their previous 28 sets until the Mustangs' second-set win.  Â
• The Panthers had won 23 straight matches in the Petersen Events Center entering the match and held a 40-match ACC home winning streak. Â
• The Mustangs improved to 5-1 in true road matches this season. Under Coach Erger, SMU is 47-13 in true away matches and 20-3 in ACC road contests. The Mustangs have beaten 17 of the 18 ACC programs on the road in just over two seasons of league play.  Â
• The SMU middles combined for 27 kills on 47 swings, hitting a combined .447 for the night. Â
• Harris' 20-dig performance against the Panthers was the 13th time she has done so in her career.Â
FIVE MUSTANGS WITH 10+ KILLSÂ
• For the first time since 2016, five Mustangs had 10 or more kills in a match.Â
• In 2016, SMU had five with double-digit kills against Cincinnati on Sept. 24, 2016.Â
SET THREE MADNESS AT PITTÂ
• The third set, 38-36, against Pittsburgh is the highest-scoring set by SMU in a set all time and is also tied for the most combined points (74) in a set all time. Â

FIRST IN THE NATIONÂ
• Junior middle blocker Natalia Newsome leads the nation in hitting percentage, terminating at a .527 clip for the season. Â
• Natalia Newsome is the most efficient middle in SMU Volleyball history and in the country. Over her career, she is hitting at a .476 clip.Â
• On nine swings or more, she has hit .500 or better 10 times this season.  Â
• Newsome hit .909 against Stanford in SMU's ACC opener, the second-highest clip on 10 swings in program history and tied for the second-best clip this season across the NCAA.Â
DYNAMIC MIDDLE DUOÂ
• SMU's starting middle tandem is one of the best duos in the country. Â
• Combined, Newsome and Anyanwu average 4.4 kills per set and 2.54 blocks per set. Â
• Both are hitting at highly efficient clips, with Newsome hitting a career-best .527 and Anyanwu hitting .349 this season.Â
NINE DIGS AWAY FROM 1KÂ
• With a 20-dig performance against the Panthers, her 13th time with 20+ in her career, Victoria Harris is nine digs away from the 1,000 mark in her career. Â
ACC PLAY DOMINANCEÂ
• The Mustangs enter Wednesday's match on a 14-match ACC winning streak, the longest active streak in the conference. Â
• The 14-match run is the second-longest streak in the Power Four and seventh-longest in the country entering the week. Â
• The last conference loss for the Mustangs was a five-set loss on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at No. 21 North Carolina.Â
MOODY MAGIC: HOME WINNING STREAKÂ Â
• SMU has won 15 straight home matches inside Moody Coliseum, the longest streak in program history. Â
• 15-straight wins at home is the third-longest streak in the nation entering the week, trailing Kentucky (28) and UNI (16).Â
MOODY ATTENDANCEÂ
• SMU's home opener against Texas on Sept. 9 drew the second-largest crowd for a volleyball match in program history. It was also the most-attended match by SMU students for volleyball in program history.Â
