COLUMBUS, Ga. (SMU) – SMU Women's Golf wrapped up the Inaugural Haskins Intercollegiate, finishing tied for fifth overall at 8-over (872).
Senior Maelynn Kim led the way on Tuesday for the Mustangs. Two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars gave Kim a solid 1-under 71. Kim would finish T8 at -4, her best effort since arriving on The Hilltop. The Houston transfer made just six bogeys all week compared to 10 birdies.
After a front nine 40, Grace Jin pieced together a clean back nine. A birdie on the par-5 15th, combined with eight pars, brought her back to 3-over 75 for the day, 3-over for the week and T18.
Celine Chen avoided the big number throughout the final round. While the Australian native avoided doubles and triples, Chen wasn't able to find any birdies on Tuesday, wrapping up the tournament with a 4-over 76. She would finish T50 at +12.
Kirra St-Laurent and Yoonjeong Huh carded a pair of 77s to round out the day. A birdie on the par-3 eighth helped St-Laurent post a T12 finish at even for the tournament. Huh delivered back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th holes, but double bogeys on No. 11 and No. 18 derailed an otherwise solid outing. She would end the tournament in 54th at +13.
