CHARLOTTE, N.C. (SMU) – Defensive lineman Marques White and safety Jarvis Lee earned ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week and Defensive Back of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Monday.
Â
White, a graduate student from Glendale, Arizona, piled up seven total tackles in Saturday's win over Boston College, including three sacks (both tied his career high) and one forced fumble. His three sacks tied for the fourth-most sacks in a single game in program history.
Â
Senior safety Jarvis Lee led SMU with nine total tackles. He delivered seven solo efforts and added a forced fumble. His forced fumble was the second of the season for the Jacksonville, Florida product and the seventh of his career.
Â
As a team, the Mustangs stacked up 13 tackles for loss, marking back-to-back games with 10 or more TFLs and the most in a game since recording 16 vs. California on Nov. 30, 2024. With SMU's five sacks against the Eagles, the Mustangs have now recorded 141 since 2023, the most of any FBS program in the country.
Â
It's the first conference honor for both White and Lee, and the third and fourth such awards for SMU this season. Tackle PJ Williams and safety Jimmy Wyrick both picked up recognition following their performances against Florida State.
Â
Head coach Rhett Lashlee and Co. return to action after the bye week on Oct. 17 when SMU hosts Virginia inside Ford Stadium.
