COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) – SMU All-American diver Luke Sitz finished first on 1-meter at the 2026 NCAA DI Zone D Diving Championships on Tuesday, completing his event sweep and punching his ticket to compete on both springboard events at the NCAA DI Swimming & Diving Championships on March 25-28.
Sitz threw down a cumulative score of 795.15, distancing himself 55.30 points away from the second place finisher, Texas' Nicholas Harris.The sophomore finished on a high note, earning a score of 75.20 for his sixth dive, a Forward 2 1/2 Somersault 1 Twist Pike. The diver earned gold on the event at the 2026 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships, giving SMU its first-ever individual ACC Championship.
All four Mustangs made the 1-meter finals. Freshman Grant Cates threw down a mark of 627.10 to finish 12th overall. RJ Snyder followed closely behind, ranking 13th with a score of 606.65. Senior John Dymond placed 15th after scoring a 552.50.
