EUGENE, Ore. (SMU) – Four SMU track and field athletes competed at the World Athletics U-20 Championships as Carolina Correia's 11^th-place finish in the 5000m highlighted the meet for the Mustangs.

Competing for Team Portugal, Correia clocked a personal best time of 16:11.47, finishing 11^th overall. The sophomore was the highest-placing Mustang over the week.

Incoming freshman Destiny Look placed 20^th overall in the heptathlon, scoring 4302 points. Competing for Team USA, her best individual event was the long jump, as she recorded a mark of 5.61m and finished 17^th in the event.

Running for Team New Zealand, incoming freshman Zara Pomfret ran in the 1500m, as she placed 39^th overall with a time of 4:34.02.

Closing out the meet for SMU was the German U-20 triple jump champion, sophomore Lotta Edzards, who finished 23^rd overall in the triple jump with a mark of 12.68m.
