DALLAS (SMU) – Five SMU cross country and track and field athletes were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Cleo Martin-Evans,
Hedda Kronstrand Kvalvåg,
Kirin Chacchia,
Macey Hilton and
Lotta Edzards earned the honor for their performance on the track and in the classroom last season.
To be eligible to receive the distinction, the student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and must hold a top-50 regional ranking in a single event for track or finish in the top 50 at the 2025 NCAA regional competition for cross country.
All five student-athletes held top 50 marks during the outdoor track and field season and advanced to the NCAA West First Round.
Kirin Chacchia earned Second Team All-America Honors at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships by finishing 15
th overall in the 400m hurdles.
