DALLAS (SMU) – No. 5 SMU Men's Soccer will host 2025 national runner-up NC State in its ACC Home Opener on Friday.
The match will kick off at 8 pm CT and be broadcast on the ACC Network. This will be the Mustangs' first national television appearance of the season.
The Mustangs are 6-0-1 this season and are coming off a 3-1 win at Pitt in their ACC Opener last Friday.
Mustangs vs. NC State History
- This will be the fourth meeting between SMU and NC State, with the Mustangs trailing the series 1-2-0.
- NC State will make its first trip to the Hilltop. The first two meetings between the teams were in Durham, N.C., at the Duke Classic (1990 and 2011), and in 2024, SMU visited Raleigh, N.C.
- SMU won their first meeting 2-0 against then-No. 9 Wolfpack in 1990.
- SMU is third nationally in goal differential (19) as of Sept. 17.
- The Mustangs lead the ACC in goals (22), assists (23), points per game (9.57) and goals allowed (3).
- SMU's defense leads the ACC in goals against average (.43).
- Jaylinn Mitchell leads the league in assists (5) and Mukisa Emmanuel is third in goals (5).

- Mukisa Emmanuel assisted Soghomonian's goal to record his first assist of the season, while Noah Holmstrøm made his first assist for SMU for Landsperg's goal.
- SMU showed incisive offense in transition, outshooting the Panthers 14-8 while having only 38% possession of the ball.
- The Mustangs remain undefeated with a 6-0-1 record. Kevin Hudson's squad has scored 22 goals while only allowing three after seven matches.
