
Beauford, Davis Collect ACC Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (SMU/ACC) - Redshirt Freshman setter Hannah Beauford has earned ACC Setter of the Week and sophomore outside hitter Suli Davis has been named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Â
The duo helped lead the Mustangs to a 2-0 start to ACC action, including a 3-0 sweep of preseason conference favorite No. 12 Stanford on Friday night. Â
Beauford paced the Mustangs to a .380 hitting percentage this week, tied for the best clip in the conference and fifth-highest in the nation. The first-year starting setter led the ACC in assists per set with 11.71. Â
The Prosper, Texas native dished out 39 assists, plus five digs and three blocks, in a three-set win over No. 12 Stanford, leading the Mustangs to a season-best .407 team hitting efficiency. Beauford followed that act with 43 assists and four digs against Cal on Sunday.Â
Davis earned her second ACC weekly honor of the season on Monday, after averaging 6.71 points and 6.29 kills per set in wins over No. 12 Stanford and Cal to start conference play. Â
The Euless, Texas, native had a season-best 26 kills on a .308 percentage against Cal on Sunday. Against No. 12 Stanford, Davis finished with 18 kills on a .342 clip. Â
For the year, Davis ranks top 15 nationally in five offensive statistical categories: Points Per Set (6th), Attacks Per Set (7th), Kills Per Set (8th), Total Kills (11th) and Points (15th). Â
Beaford, Davis, and the No. 5 Mustangs travel to Syracuse and Boston College this weekend for their first conference road tests of the season. Friday's match with the Orange is set to start at 5 p.m. CT and stream on ACCNX.Â
