TYLER, Texas (SMU) – Quarterback Kevin Jennings and wide receiver Yamir Knight have both been named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week Honorable Mention, the organization announced Tuesday.
Â
Jennings, now SMU's record holder in career total offense, touchdowns responsible for and completions, threw for 464 yards and three touchdowns in the victory over Missouri State. It was his 10th 300-yard game and second 400-yard effort. He also ran one into the end zone himself. To top off the night, he collected 21-straight completions, an SMU record and second-most in a single game in ACC history.
Â
Knight hauled in 11 receptions for 164 yards, both career highs, and a touchdown. It was Knight's fourth 100-yard receiving game of his career and sixth 100-yard all-purpose game. The senior also earned Honorable Mention last season after his sensational outing against Boston College.
Â
The distinction marks the third time a Mustang has received the honor this season. Jennings was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week after his performance against Florida State and was Honorable Mention following his effort against UC Davis.
