CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – SMU women's soccer forward Julianne Richter was named ACC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Richter played a crucial role in both of SMU's games last week, scoring the game-tying goal against (rv) Texas Tech in a 1-1 draw and recording one goal and two assists against Idaho State in a 6-0 shutout victory.

The freshman, who has shown the ability to generate consistent offense all season for the Mustangs, stepped up big against Texas Tech, scoring the game-tying goal in the 74^th, keeping SMU's unbeaten streak alive. Against ISU, she recorded her second multi-assist game of the season and scored her second goal of the year as the Mustangs closed out non-conference play with a dominant home victory.

Richter has tallied a team-high six assists this season, which is tied for first in the ACC and fourth in the nation. She also ranks second on the team in total points with 10.

Richter is also the first SMU women's soccer player to earn a weekly ACC honor.

The Mustangs, who are on a seven-game unbeaten streak, begin ACC play on the road this week, facing Miami on Friday at 6 pm CT in Coral Gables. The game will air on ACCNX.
