Junior (2009): Played in 12 games, getting the start at Marshall... Had 15 tackles on the season with five of those stops coming against the Herd. Sophomore (2008): Played in all 12 games, mostly on special teams... Had tackles against Texas State and Texas Tech. Freshman (2007 at Pima (Ariz.) CC): Played one season. Prep: Started for two years at Suncoast High School at cornerback, wide receiver, running back and quarterback... Allowed just one touchdown in high school... Also lettered in track and baseball, earning Puma All-America baseball honors in 2006. Personal: Is related to Philadelphia Eagles CB Lito Sheppard, former North Carolina State fourth-round draft pick Andre Maddox and former Kansas State safety Mario Smith... Chose SMU over South Florida, North Carolina and Baylor... Plans to major in finance or engineering... Parents are Sylvia Thomas and Bennie Thomas, Jr.
