Entering his third year at the Hilltop, Bryan Filker assumes a new role as the Assistant Director of Recruiting Operations, marking his third consecutive position within the institution. His journey began as a College Scouting Assistant in 2022, followed by a role as a Player Personnel GA in 2023.
Prior to his transition to collegiate athletics, Filker gained valuable experience as a scouting and analytics intern with The 33rd Team, a distinguished football think tank, comprising of current and former NFL coaches, players, and scouts. In this capacity, he assessed NFL Draft prospects through film study, play charting, statistical analysis, and live evaluations. Additionally, Filker contributed to professional football as a Texas area scout for the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers and served as a NFL liaison for the East West Shrine Bowl. Filker served with distinction in the United States Air Force for four years, specializing in F-22 intelligence with the 525 Fighter Squadron in JBER Alaska.
Filker's academic achievements are equally impressive, with multiple degrees under his belt. He recently graduated from American Military University with a Master of Science in Sports Administration in 2024. Prior to this, he earned a Master of Science in Sport Management from SMU in 2023. His undergraduate studies culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management, also from American Military University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2022. Filker's educational journey began with an Associate of Applied Science in Intelligence Studies and Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, completed in 2020.
